Why we left fast fashion behind

We started Urban Threads after spending five years inside the fast fashion machine. Watching a single t-shirt design produced in 200,000 units, shipped 20,000 km, and discounted to landfill within a season is enough to convince anyone there must be a better way.

Our model is simple. Small batches — never more than 500 units of any piece. Made in Africa, mostly within 200km of our Lagos studio. Materials chosen for longevity rather than cost. Prices that pay our makers fairly without being inaccessible.

The result is fewer styles, longer waits, and clothes you actually keep. Customers tell us our pieces stay in rotation for five years and counting. That is the metric that matters.
